Babulala – A Mother’s Journey
I’m Emma Wilson, the founder of Babulala, a children's clothing brand. But before becoming an entrepreneur, I was just a single mom who wanted nothing more than to give my daughter the best life possible.
The Struggles That Made Me Stronger
My marriage wasn’t a happy one. My husband wasn’t a good man, and being with him only brought pain, loneliness, and exhaustion. For a long time, I thought I had to stay—for my child. But then I realized that no child should grow up in a home filled with tension and sadness.
The day I walked away, I had almost nothing—no money, no support, and no idea how I was going to make it. But I did have one thing: my love for my daughter, Lily. I refused to let her feel like she was missing out on anything. No matter how hard things got, I was determined to give her everything she deserved.
From Struggling Single Mom to Building a Brand
Being a single mom wasn’t easy. I worked multiple jobs, barely got any sleep, and had to be both mom and dad. But every time I looked at Lily, I knew giving up wasn’t an option.
I started thinking about what I really wanted for my child—safety, comfort, and quality in everything she touched. That’s when I realized: if I couldn’t find the perfect clothes for her, I would create them myself. And that’s how Babulala was born.
I spent months searching for organic cotton, bamboo fabric, and other safe, breathable materials—the kind that wouldn’t irritate sensitive skin or contain harmful chemicals. I refused to settle for anything less than the best because I knew if I wouldn’t put it on my child, other parents wouldn’t either.
I partnered with manufacturers and made sure every product met the highest safety standards, including CPSIA, OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and GOTS certifications. This wasn’t just about selling clothes—it was about giving parents peace of mind, knowing their kids were wearing something truly safe and comfortable.
Babulala – As Soft as a Mother’s Love
Looking back, I don’t see myself as a struggling single mom anymore. I see a strong, determined mother who refused to settle for less. I fought for my child, and in doing so, I created something that could help thousands of other kids too.
Babulala isn’t just a brand—it’s a promise. A promise that every child deserves the softest, safest, and most comfortable clothing—just like a mother’s love.
